Area Templates

When creating a Quote, Area(s) will automatically populate on the Left Side bar. These are defined by the default area template. The Area templates can be updated to match the property layers that your business needs to measure ensuring that every quote is pre-loaded with the relevant property areas for your convenience.

Updating Area Templates

SatQuote has its preset area template that is already selected as its default template. This area template can be fully customized to match your preference.

  1. On the Home Page Menu, click Settings and select Area Templates.

  1. You will be directed to the Area Templates page. On this page, you can view existing area templates, update, delete, or create a new template.

  1. To update an existing template, find it on the list and click the Template Name to open.

  2. The Update Area Template window will appear. You can update the Template Name* field by changing its content.

  1. To activate/deactivate the template, toggle the Active option.

  2. To make this as the default template, toggle the Default option. Only 1 area template can be tagged as default because this is the template which will load when a new quote is created.

  3. On the left section of the window you can specify the following:

Area Name

Enter/update the area name. If you want to add another area, click the +AREA button.

Subarea Name

Enter/update the Subarea name. This field is under the Subareas subsection. If you want to add another subarea, click the +SUBAREA button and it will appear in this subsection.

AI Resources

Click the drop-down arrow to select the preferred AI resource to match the subarea.
  1. On the right section of the window, update the BASICS tab which includes the following:

Color

Select/update the area color by selecting from the default color swatch or by clicking the Color drop-down menu and manually select your preferred color.

Opacity

Toggle the Opacity bar to set the area’s opacity.
  1. On right section of the window, click the MEASUREMENTS tab to access and update the measurement settings:

    • Perimeter: Enabling the Display toggle will display the perimeter values in the Measurement summary in the Left Side of the map. You can also select your preferred unit of measurement (ft. yd. m.).

    • Area: Enabling the Display toggle will display the area values in the Measurement summary in the Left Side of the map. You can also select your preferred unit of measurement (ft2. yd2. m2. ac).

    • Volume: Enabling the Display toggle will display the volume values in the Measurement summary in the Left Side of the map. You can also select your preferred unit of measurement (ft3. yd3. m3.).

    • Exclude Cutout Edges in Perimeter

    • Display Segment Lengths

  1. On the right section of the window, click the LABELS tab to access and update the label settings:

    • Text Color

    • Text Size

    • Background Color

    • Background Opacity

    • Border Color

    • Border Width

  1. Review the area template’s changes and click the SAVE button to apply the updated settings.

Create New Area Template

To create an Area Template, use Step 1 and 2 and click the + Create Area Template button. The Create Area Template window will appear. The steps to customize the new template are the same as listed above (Steps 3-11), simply fill in the required information and configure the template settings.

Switching or Adding Templates within a Quote

When inside of a quote, additional areas can be added from other templates in the +AREA menu.

  1. Click the +AREA button to access the Create Area window.

  1. Click the USE TEMPLATE button to open the Template Selection dialog box.

  1. In the Template* field, click the drop-down arrow and select the preferred area template.

    • Note: you can create a new template from this dialog box by clicking the Plus (+) button.

  1. Click the Apply button. A new Area will be added and the selected template will appear under it.
